ֱ (ֱ) participated in the global giving movement, Giving Tuesday, this year on Nov. 28, and raised $11,589 in the first day of the #GiveTueֱ campaign that will run through Dec. 31.

The campaign’s launch day featured more than 50 donors supporting ֱ’s innovators, researchers, pharmacists, leaders, scientists, entrepreneurs, pioneers, and change makers.

“We are overwhelmed and pleased with the outpouring of support for ֱ students and alumni—our change makers,” said Christa Oudshoorn-Hobo, alumni engagement manager at ֱ. “It’s clear that donors realize their support can literally change the world.”

Donors had the option of directing their gifts toward scholarships, professional development, faculty support and research, nuts and bolts (facility upkeep), and innovation.

During the #GiveTueֱ launch day, students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends of ֱ wrote their names on Post-It notes inside the ֱ Café. Students could even donate to the campaign by adding $2 directly to their meal purchase and will until the end of the semester.

Additionally, the first 100 donors received a free ֱ-branded t-shirt, while donations above $75 received a free gift.
